Gnomes are a popular Christmas trend in Northern Europe. Hang it by a window or beside the tree, and use a stick and cup if you want it on a shelf. This size is neat enough to place on a mantelpiece or table without taking over the room. It also makes a pleasant addition to a Christmas market stall or school fair, where something eye-catching helps people find you. Foil keeps it looking full for several days, so you can inflate it before the weekend.
