Decorating tips

1. Inflate on the day or the evening before. A helium latex balloon floats for about 8 to 12 hours.
2. Use Hi-Float gel if you inflate a day early.
3. Foil balloons last longer, often several days.
4. Air-filled balloons work for walls and floors: no helium needed for arches and photo walls.
5. Stick to two or three colours.
6. Keep balloons away from radiators and sun.
7. Safety: burst balloon pieces are a choking hazard for small children. Pick them up straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Do foil balloons come filled with helium?

No, balloons are shipped flat. Fill foil balloons with helium to float, or with air to hang on a wall or put on a stick.

How long does a helium balloon float?

A standard latex balloon floats for about 8 to 12 hours with helium. Ultra Hi-Float gel extends that significantly. Foil balloons usually float for several days.

How many balloons do I need for a birthday?

For a normal room, one number or shape balloon plus 12 to 18 latex balloons. For an arch or a big wall, 50 or more.

When should I order party supplies?

At least a week before the party, so you have time to check everything and top up if needed.
